Dear, our sponsors at Grace Lutheran Church,
I greet you all in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We thank God for the Journey we have moved with you and the rest we shall move together. I thank every member who has worked tirelessly to see that the deserving children in Uganda have access to quality education. We are blessed and favored to have you as our sponsors.
My name is Abraham, I am one of the beneficiaries of the financial support we receive each year from the Grace Lutheran Church. I started getting this support from Grace at 17 years of age, I am now 23 years old. In two months, I will graduate with a degree in Economics from Kyambogo University in Kampala. This degree has opened opportunities for me including teaching economics at the High School level, but also deeply concentrated in Urban and Regional Planning, Policy analysis and evaluation as well as financial management.
I am glad to say that without the support of members of Grace Lutheran church, I wouldn’t have been able to reach this far. I would have dropped out of school at a young age. I would have been one of the failures as normally described by others in my village. I would be unemployed due to a low level of education and as a result, would be no access to needed resources to sustain my life due to poverty. Most of the doors to success would have been closed on me!
But because of the financial support from you members of Grace, I have been able to study and change my future. As I write, I am doing my final internship with the Ministry of the Local Government under the Department of Finance Planning and Economic Development. In February 2024, I am starting my research and hope to officially graduate after handing in my research report.
I deeply thank you for your continued financial support towards us through Wide Smiles. We have come to know people as friends and as close as our parents from Grace. You are indeed a blessing to us and thanks to Wide Smiles for these connections in our lives. We are humbled for this family away from home.
I thank you for organizing fundraising concerts every year to benefit us. I thank my friend Dee Dee Norman and the entire family for the love, prayers, gifts, and all kinds of support towards me. Thank you so much, Sharon and Mark Dembro for your loving and compassionate heart. Kenneth, you are a father, very loving and caring and we thank God for your amazing and hope-restoring work. In the future, I plan to further my education to a Master’s level in Economic Policy and Planning. It is my goal to teach Economics at the Institutions of higher learning.
God bless you so much
